Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai is an advanced research institute established and funded by the Reserve Bank of India. The college was established in the year 1987 and it was inaugurated by Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India. The institute is popularly known as IGIDR Mumbai. The college is recognised as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act and accredited by NAAC with a ‘B+’ grade.The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research campus covers an area of 14 acres. The college has a faculty strength of 26. IGIDR courses list consists of two programmes: M.Sc Economics and PhD Development Studies. IGIDR Mumbai PhD and M.Sc programmes were started in the year 1990 and 2003, respectively. At present, a total of 90 students are enrolled in the college. IGIDR admissions are offered based on the computer based test and a personal interview 24 conducted by the college.
